Terms and Conditions of Hire


1. Loan Form

A. Your personal details will be kept in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and will only be used to contact you in relation to your loan.  The information we gather is kept on Quickbooks and is used within Outlook to communicate with you.  Both are GDPR compliant systems.

2. Loan Cost and Duration

A. All carriers are lent subject to availability, condition and suitability.

B. The standard loan period is £5.00 for one week.

C. We will contact you the day before your loan period expires. We understand that life is hectic and will assume that if your carrier is not returned on the date due that you wish to extend the hire for another week and you will be invoiced for the extension.

D. The replacement of any lost carriers, accessories or instructions will be owed by you. Charges for lost components will be equal to replacement cost (including any postage costs). Charges for items damaged beyond normal wear and tear will be judged on a case by case basis.

E. Carrier’s that are returned early will not receive a refund on hire fees.

F. We will recover all unpaid invoices through the small claims court, including all additional costs.

G. At our discretion, you may swap your hired carrier with an alternative one during your hire period at no extra cost.

3. Payment Methods

A. Hire costs are payable by cash, card, BACS or Paypal payment.

4. Late Returns

A. If you return your carrier late, you will be charged and invoiced £5.00 for a full weeks hire on the first day past the agreed returns due date.

B. We will continue to charge in this manner every week until the carrier is returned.

C. Persistent lateness with returns, rehires or payment of fees may result in you no longer being able to hire from the library.

D. If extension of hire payment is not recieved from you within 30 days from the end of your loan, we will consider the carrier stolen and begin legal proceedings.

E. If you are unable to return your carrier by the agreed date due to Library staff illness or holidays, we will extend your loan period for free and agree a new returns due date with you.

5. Returning Carriers

A. Returns can be made at Cuddle Me Up Slings, Unit 8 12 High Street, Eccleshall Stafford ST21 6BZ, between 9.30am and 2.30pm. Or at a pre arranged time to Byways Whitemill Lane, Stone, Stafford ST15 0EG. If this is not possible the carrier may be returned by post to arrive on or before the returns due date.

B. Contact cuddlemeupslings@hotmail.com to obtain the address for Carriers and instructions to be returned by post.

C. The carrier is returned by post at your own cost and risk (we advise that you use Recorded or Special Delivery and retain proof of postage). Please ensure you allow sufficient time for the carrier to arrive by its return due date.

D. Please ensure that the carrier and any accessories are packaged appropriately – we prefer that you ‘double–bag’ the carrier and write both addresses on both layers.

6. Condition of the Carrier

A. All carriers are checked before lending to ensure that they are in good condition and working order. The borrower may check the condition of the carrier prior to the start of the loan.

C. It is the borrower’s responsibility to check over the carrier before every use. Check all buckles, hems and seams ensuring that there are no tears, breaks, cracks or holes. If any damage is discovered, please stop using the carrier immediately and contact us.

7. Safe Use of Carriers


B. All carriers will be fitted to you and your baby before being hired. We will provide you with an online link to manufacturer’s instructions or to one of our own videos.

C. The borrower must read all safety, use and care instructions provided prior to using the carrier. Carriers must only be used in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions, though where there is a choice we may recommend particular carrying methods or positions.

D. We suggest that after familiarising yourself with the instructions given you then practice using the carrier with a doll/teddy or cushion/pillow so that you get used to the tying/fastening/adjusting methods.

E. Always ensure that you seat your child correctly in the carrier and check any knots regularly as children do not stay still and straps and wrap passes can move or become loosened.

F. If you feel any pain while carrying your child, change the carrying position or remove the carrier. If you are unsure about anything you read in the instructions, are not sure what you’re doing or are at all concerned, please ask us. We can point you in the direction of lots of helpful sites to give you tips to make sure you’re getting the best out of the carrier and using it safely.

8. Care of Carriers

A. Under no circumstances is it permitted to smoke whilst wearing or holding the carrier. Please inform us if you are a smoker, or if there is a smoker in your home as we will need to carefully launder the carrier after it is returned. Smoking is known to increase the risk of cot death for babies, and these risks have also been linked to babies being in close contact with clothing or objects contaminated with smoke particles.

B. We cannot guarantee that there are no marks on the carriers we lend. Carriers are laundered regularly and/or laundered as appropriate when the lending schedule allows.

C. For soft carriers (wraps, slings and tie on styles) please spot clean any marks and more soil–prone areas (e.g. on straps and top edges) when they occur using liquid detergent/washing up liquid and water. If necessary wash the carrier before returning it using liquid detergent (such as Ecover) and washing cycle suitable for delicates. Protect rings by putting a sock or similar over them, held on with an elastic band.

D. For soft structured carriers, framed carriers and anything with significant padding, structural elements or buckles please avoid putting in the washing machine. Do spot clean any marks when they occur using washing up liquid or liquid detergent and water, and ensure that straps and areas where baby may suck or chew the carrier are clean before returning.  In extreme circumstances where the carrier can only be washed in a machine, please do so in a pillow case to reduce risk of damage to the carrier.

F. Food and posset marks are expected when carrying children, but please keep the sling away from anything that may stain more permanently (oil, paint, pens, etc.), or anything that might damage it (scissors, Velcro, keys in your bag, fire, etc.). The cost of damage beyond normal wear and tear may be charges to you.

9. Ownership

A. All slings, carriers, instructions and accessories remain the property of Cuddle Me Up Slings Limited at all times, and all loans are subject to availability and our discretion.

Loss or Damage

You will be liable to cover any costs occurred if the sling is lost or damaged beyond normal wear and tear and the damages will be claimed through the small claims court if necessary.  If we do not hear from you after 30 days from the start of your loan we will consider the sling lost, file a claim for the total costs of the sling plus any outstanding late fees and cancel your subscription.



We hope that you will love your purchase from Cuddle Me Up Slings Limited, but we understand that you may wish to return your item(s).

If you wish to return an item that you have purchased online, please inform us via email at cuddlemeupslings@hotmail.com within 14 days of receiving your order. We must then receive the item(s) within the next 14 days.

We can only accept returned items that are unused and in their original as new condition. Items must be in their original intact packaging, with all tags, labels and instruction manuals undamaged. We cannot refund items that have been worn or washed. Returned items must be in fully re-saleable condition.

We do not accept returns for item purchases when you have already seen the item in person, such as (but not limited to) at a Consultation or workshop.

Once we have received the returned item, we will send you a full refund for the purchase price of the item(s) within 14 days of receiving the item(s) back. We will refund to the credit/debit card or PayPal account that you used for the original purchase.


1:1 and Consultations

All consultations require full payment to secure the booking.  Consultations booked and confirmed are subject to our 24 hour cancellation policy.  If you cancel your consultation with less than 24 hour’s notice you will surrender 100% of your payment. If you or your child are ill, or unable to attend I will always seek to reschedule for a mutually convenient time.



Inline with GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) enforceable within all businesses as of the 25th May 2018.

I would like to reassure all my customers that only information pertaining to their hire relevant to my insurance will be kept. The information required will be name, address, email address, phone number, any medical conditions that may affect your or baby whilst wearing, and your child’s date of birth.  This information will be used to contact you with regards to your hires of our carriers, and for tax and insurance purposes only.

With regards to purchases from our online shop, information required is Name, Address and Email address so that I may fulfil your order.  This information will be used to contact you with regards to your order and for tax purposes.

No information is passed onto any third parties. You will not receive unsolicited emails or messages from Cuddle Me Up Slings Limited.  For all new up to date information, about new products, or discounts etc you will need to check out our Facebook and Instagram pages.

Your information will be held securely on PayPal, Facebook Messages, and Quickbooks using Hotmail to message you.  Card details are held by Sum up and Go Cardless, bank details are never stored and payments made via Paypal are GDPR compliant. We are a paperless business and all your information is stored electronically on Quickbooks which is only accessible by Kirsty Kirkham and Myself via password or fingerprint ID.

If you would like me to delete your information, or are unhappy with me using your information in this way before you hire or purcahse from our shop, then sadly I will be unable to hire or sell you a carrier.

In line with tax and accountancy guidelines, all data will be destroyed after 7 years.
